As we all know, winter break is coming up. Everyone gets together with family and celebrates. Some people celebrate Christmas, some celebrate other holidays. You get to open presents, eat big dinners, play in the snow, make cookies, eat the cookies, decorate the Christmas tree and so much more. There are many things people do, but do you ever wonder what your teachers will be doing?

“I bake cookies, breads, cheesecakes, and prepare for a huge Christmas dinner,” Mrs. Russell said. She gets family and friends together and has a huge feast, where they usually eat prime ribs and homemade pasta.

Mrs. Kellett gets together with family every year and goes from place to place. This year they are going to Hawaii. “My favorite thing to do is anything with my family,” she said.

If you’ve had Mrs. Salenski for seventh grade science or eighth grade math, you’d know that she is from Michigan. Every year, she, her husband, and two kids go home for Christmas. This year, things are going to be different. She is going to stay here in Washington, and for a couple of weeks go to Portland. Her favorite thing to do is travel with her family over the breaks. “All of my traditions include food: baking sugar cookies and making lots of appetizers for Christmas Eve."

Ask your teachers what they are doing over winter break. Get them gifts and wish them happy holidays.
