Recycling in our school is very important because everything is reused and it helps the environment that we live in. If we don’t take care of the environment now, then what will there be to take care of in the future? Think of when you recycle your milk carton in school. Do you empty out your milk carton before you throw it out? Even if there’s only one full milk carton out of the hundreds in the recycling bin, it cannot be recycled. “Everything has to be thrown out,” said Ms. Poole, who advises the Brier Terrace Green Team.

The Green Team helps monitor the trash and recycling bin. They also make posters and go to different BEL classes to inform us about recycling and how it helps the school environment. Not only is recycling helpful to the environment, it also “builds community and responsibility for taking care of the environment which we live and it slows global warming,” said Ms. Poole.
