What is piracy? It is not pillaging seafarers, but is illegally downloading video games and other files off the internet. Why is this a bad thing? Well, for one thing, the developer of the game gets no money for the game they released legally, and that’s without getting ethics and morality involved. You may be mad at the company, or the developer, or whoever, and those are completely valid reasons to not want to get the game, but if you pirate the game, it renders all of those arguments meaningless because you must think the game is still worth playing, even with the flaws.
So what we are saying is, just pay for it. The developers aren't going to keep making the games if you don’t pay for their games. They certainly aren’t going to make any of the games that have changed the way we see and use the industry.
To all the kids at this school that have installed Pokemon on their chromebooks (don’t lie, you have), think about it. We can’t stop you, but think about who you're impacting. If you’re just reliving the past, fine. If you’re killing the future of the company, don’t. You hold the fate of the games in your hands.
