Recently, the two trails that lead to our school had a little maintenance performed on them. Before, the trail had trees that were blocking the view of it and its surroundings around it. This was deemed a safety issue which needed to be fixed, which is why the trail was under maintenance. The maintenance took three days within finals week and was suggested by a neighbor living very close to the school. The neighbor had recommended clearing out the area because of vandalism issues. For example, someone had dumped an entire deck on the trail and previously, students have shot fireworks in the back of the school.
The plan included cutting down trees that were interfering with visibility, clearing out the area so as to reduce vandalism, and laying down crushed rock so it is easier for students to walk on the road. According to Mr. Turner, these changes have benefited our students who walk on the trails by improving the visibility and ease of supervision as well as making it easier for the students to walk on.
