Due to a surge of requests by students throughout the school an important decision that was made by our principal, Ms. Alex Alexander. P.E. clothing will no longer be required. Students will now wear their own clothes to P.E., preferably clothes that are easy to exercise in. However, this decision comes with a price. This means that students may not be able to exercise as freely if they don’t bring different clothes. It will also be a detriment to a part of the school budget, which somewhat relies on P.E. clothes to make money.

When asked questions about the situation on P.E. clothing, it was found that students tend to think of P.E. clothes as an interference of their expression, and an inconvenience to wear every school day. “It’s a hassle to put on P.E. clothes, let alone take them off. It makes me late to class when I need to change clothes,” said Evan Bradbury.

Many teachers, including Mrs. Wertman rebutted the students, stating that “these clothes allowed students to exercise more freely, and helped contribute to the school budget.” Even though both sides had valid points, this heated debate eventually lead to P.E. clothing being discontinued. If you are a 7th grader currently, then you will be affected by this next year.
