Students from the BTMS TSA group went to the DoubleTree Hotel to complete in a diverse array of events, through March 31st to April 2nd.

There were many events to participate in at the conference, with the main events being Career Prep, Junior Solar Sprint, and Structural Engineering. There were also many other events that you could participate in, like Video Game Design, Biotechnology Challenge, Website Design, Essays on Technology, Website Design, Knowledge Bowl, Leadership Strategies, Prepared Speech, Mass Production and Problem Solving, among others.

There were also many things to do while waiting to participate in events. Swimming, visiting a snack room, or even spectating TSA events are just a few to name. At the end of the second day, there were two tournaments that you could compete in. They were the Smash Bros. Tournament and the Jenga Tournament, both of which were enjoyable.

During the conference, there was a meeting conducted during the ending of each day. The first one, the introductory meeting, introduced the theme of WTSA 2016, making a legacy.

They also went over the many events during the conference. After the introductory meeting was the business meeting. During this meeting, everyone in the conference got to vote for the new WTSA State Officer team of 2016-2017.

There was a phenomenal guest speaker at the conference named David Edward Garcia. He was a motivational speaker about starting your own legacy, talking about how it isn’t impossible to meet your dreams. He was even generous enough to give everyone at the conference a copy of his own book.

“I felt personally that the conference was a great experience. I learned a lot from it.”

- Lukas Malins.

“It was great. I really enjoyed it, and thought it was a really fun experience overall.”

- Nolan Degarlais

Throughout the many events at the WTSA Conference, along with the many experiences we were able to have on this journey, this conference ended up being a worthwhile time, which thoroughly encouraged us to start our own legacy.
