Band and Orchestra Concerts

The music programs of BTMS both had their first performances of the year. The band concert was on November 1st. Within the concert, the Concert Band, Symphonic Band, Jazz Band, and Percussion Ensemble all had their own separate performances. This was the first year that BTMS had percussion ensemble. One of the members of the percussion ensemble, Simon Neilson, stated “There are a lot of different skill levels involved in the percussion ensemble.” The percussion ensemble has students of both grades, which is where the diversity in skill level comes from.

The BTMS Orchestra also performed for the first time this year. Their concert was on November 3rd. The 7th graders performed songs that the 8th graders performed last year. Many of the students in the 8th grade orchestra commented on how it was nostalgic for them to hear the songs that the 7th graders played. Overall, the two concerts were great ways to start off the year.
