Women's March in Seattle

The day after President Donald Trump was inaugurated, the marches began. There has never been this type of demonstration to protest the inauguration of a president only a few days after they were inaugurated.

All over the world, people are marching for women's rights, in places like Singapore, Tokyo and Athens. Although, for this article, we are focusing on the march that took place in our own city of Seattle. The main march was in Washington DC, and happened the day after Donald Trump's inauguration. Other marches and ones that came after it were called sister marches.

The march in Seattle, Washington pulled in a crowd of 175,000 people. The march started from Judkins Park to the Seattle Center, covering three miles (4.8 km).

Everyone was there for their own reason and own purpose. We saw people marching for Planned Parenthood, abortion rights, and even racial equality. They walked the streets of Seattle holding hands, starting chants, or just walking for a cause. They were marching to get something done, to make a stand. It was fun but there was also a sort of tension among the group.

From my point of view, seeing so many people in one place and fighting for what they believed in was extremely inspiring. While people were fighting for many things the main reason we were marching was for women's equality. There were so many people, and so many different people. For me that shows how important it is that we solve this problem.

People even after the march are striving for truth about our community and overall equality amongst us in America and around the world.
