We're Getting Uniforms

The district has decided to give us uniforms. They are giving us uniforms because of the constant disregard for the dress code and our recent survey. A district official recently visited our school to assess our dress code behavior. We didn't do well, so now the district wants us to wear uniforms. If you don’t want to wear a uniform, you still have a chance. If we can prove we deserve a dress code, we may get our choice back. Until then, the uniforms will be given to students after we get back from spring break.
We have responses from staff and students! Ms. Garrison said, “A uniform would be better than any old dress code. My kids always wear hats in class, even when I tell them not to!”
Here are some quotes from our anonymous survey.
“I would love uniforms! Everyone would be on equal footing as far as style/name brands and choosing what I have to wear everyday is simplified.”
“I am a fan. It levels the playing field.”
“It would be nice to have a change.”
“I don’t like uniforms.”
“I think they are good because no one will get made fun of for what they are wearing because everyone will be wearing the same thing.”
“I’m not a big fan.”
Girls will have red knee length skirts. Boys will have red shorts. Everyone will be required to wear white socks. Everyone will also have to wear white button up shirts with red and yellow striped ties. You may dress in the uniform that matches your gender identity.
This information comes straight from the Edmonds School District. Which do you think is better, the dress code or the new uniforms? Email us what you think! (bulldogbriefstaff@gmail.com).
